Southeastern Poland

My Polish ancestors came from today’s northern Podkarpackie Voivodeship, found in the Southeastern part of today’s Poland. This area was previously located in the the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria (also known as Galician Poland) and was part of the Austrian Empire until 1918.

The area is surrounded by the beautiful Sandomierz Forest, which provided many natural resources to the inhabitants. There are four administrative towns in this region of my research: Kolbuszowa, Mielec, Nisko and Tarnobrzeg.
